Our logo is based on the ancient symbol for Quintessence, the 5th element, which after the four elements of earth, air, fire, and water, was thought to be the substance of the heavenly bodies and latent in all things. It refers to that aspect of the "thing" which although ethereal and sometimes hard to define, makes the "thing" what it is. Just as usability makes technology into something other than a doorstop--without the quintessential element of good usability, technology is nothing.

Quintus celebrates two official holidays:

July 23 - Founder's Day
 Why? Because mid-July a few year's back we decided that the Founders needed a break so we all called an official day off. It's become an annual tradition.

December 20 - Quintus Progeny Day
Quintus has two progeny. December 20th is their birthday and so we make a point to take the day off to celebrate! The Quintus Progeny
